Aleppo Syria.
Eos once rose in saffron clouds
to greet the dawning earth.
But now…Khaos has shafted in
with ancient battles of religious war.
Ares is everywhere.
Soldiers are on the march…
Athena raises up her spear….
She aims…it falls on nothingness.
Gaia …gang raped …is left for dead.
Gone is the chorus of the dawn
And all she made elysian has fled.
Dike lies wounded …paralysed,
Her moral codes are lost.
Flora has seen her petals drop
onto the ashen dust,
The empty streets are pulverised..
devoid of antitrust…
Hemera desperate in the ebony of night
appeals to Nyx to lift the rayless veil
and let in light.
Too late…it is too late..
That bloodied Stygian stain
will not wash out.
Ares will not retreat.
He lives to fight….again.
A country’s joy and innocence,
has been bled.
A former life and culture
Is now dead.
