I live in a World of Media.
My Granny grew her parsley bed,
and goose-berries.
Apples, plums, and marigolds,
Her roses by the wall.
She grew them all.
I Google everything.
My Granny took the slow old
lumbering bus to Rathmines Library
to find out anything at all.
But I live in a World of Media.
I have it at my fingertips,
As I slouch into Google fattening hips.
And she made brawn from wasted
cookery bits,
My Granny did.
…I’m more ignorant
with my plastic wasteful ways…
My knowing it is all so wrong
…and yet I do not change.
I live in a World of Media,
and I am crazily lamenting…
but disengaged.
