There Are Parts of You That I Have Never Seen...

Ranging from Ganges to the Himalayas
There are parts of you that I have never seen..
Hidden in your crevices are corners of your moist darkness
You did not reveal
And when you disappeared like cooling steam
I was left knowing that I did not know you.

Every half grey rag idea or paint line
That I’ve worked on since...has left me wondering
Upon your mystery . That pasty skin I never got beyond
Your floating water eyes
Like tadpoles just before their legs emerge.

Under the neon light you sit
...polishing guitars
Wondering which precious one you might part with
To pay your bills.
How many dreary cells or gated homes
Have each of us known since..?

So terminated..connecting
Only in a dream or two I never seem to have
There are parts of you that I came to, too late
Like the fresh and happy smile
That you were born with
Before you were sent away...and lost that smile forever
More or less.

Ranging from the Rockies to the deadness of Detroit
There are parts of you that I have never seen.
