Rhubarb

I walked into the garden..sunshine and blackbird song
I cut a basketful of ruby stems..removed the leaves
And walked indoors again
I chopped the rhubarb into little squares
And sugared them...I added ginger
And some water to the pot...
And let it boil away...

I burned the rhubarb and the pot is black.
