I am a Guest.

Goose duck or ham
Choose..choose...
Sprouts celery and peas

Truman in the Tower Room
Yaddo....rhymes with shadow..
And none of it makes any sense
Like nipples on a man.

Mushroom pate..very fatty.
Christmas pudding ...fruity.

The cake...bring out the cake
Duck ...stuff the duck with apricots
And camomile ..sever the wings
You’ll never sail again dead duck
Floating in dark plum sauce
And peppery potatoes.

Capote stepping out in harp wind grasses
Hot Southern Heat ...comfy arses

The celery is stringy..bring it back
..serviettes..and linen tablecloth
Set out correctly..this and that and silver cleaning
Every Monday.

The butler dutiful is never slack
But at night he might become another chap
Creeps upstairs to his closet...
Wears a dress
Leaves the house as Mary
Comes back a Jack.

In summer shorts .. hawaiian shirt
Capote on the Chaise Longue
Reading Proust
The pool sparkling in the dark
The scene is set ...the nightingale
And then the lark..

The kitchen’s serving coque au vin
With sour rhubarb sauce.
