I’ve come to say hello to you.
You are Old World..100 million years.
I am New World…
In need of ancient wisdom.

I’m told I’ve come from you …
Five fingers and five toes.
Two arms…two legs…and even
Our two elbows.

Your knowing eye stares
back at me.
I almost feel I know you.

My kind are doomed.
We strut this earth
in arrogance.
I am so sorry that we kill you.

How wonderful you look.
Intelligent, harmonious, calm.
How can I learn from you ?

100 million years..
Five fingers and five toes.
We came from you,
But somehow we outgrew you.

You will outlive us.
