London : A Love Story in Short Lines.

Well of course...you know I have been walking these streets
or a very long time now.
I keep looking for something,
That I Lost a long time ago
Perhaps these things don’t matter,
But it’s hard to shake them off, try and try as you might.
I have been careless. letting things fall.

The streets of London both thrill and scare me
The Hurly Burly of a city can intimidate as well as stimulate
It was nice when I could hang on to your arm
And walk step by step....foot by foot together.

The Sq was full of roosting birds at night..
But they’ve all gone. Where have they gone?
Why have they gone ?
And you’re gone too...

The streets of London linger on like old friends
You’ve known a long long time.
Camden town ... and the crowded underground...the river Thames.
My search on the streets is always here
I think I see the ghost of you on every corner
And you and you and you...and all the you’s i’ve known thru out my years.
Are somewhere here.

Through Russell Sq and past the Tavistock
Huge Plane trees swaying in the London Breeze
The ancient flesh of embalmed bodies...not far away
Mummified...laid to rest
And we all loved it...Egyptian Queens..
Their bones so old so very old

Well...that was one experience...but there were others too
Like losing you...
Warhol signed with disappearing ink ...and so did you.

You came and went to gone
The trees are trimmed
Memories linger on

I walk the streets of London with an easy step
I love that you are here
I love that you’re a specter on the streets
Of London Town
